Modul-System: Future-Ready Solutions for Commercial Vehicles For more than 50 years, Modul-System has been at the forefront of modular solutions for commercial vehicles. As the transport industry undergoes its biggest transformation in decades, with electrification reshaping vehicle design and fleet operations, Modul-System continues to lead by combining proven experience with forward-looking innovation. Electric light commercial vehicles (e-LCVs) bring new challenges to vehicle conversions. Range, payload, energy efficiency, safety, and sustainability are now critical considerations alongside everyday productivity. Modul-System has developed solutions specifically to meet these demands—while also delivering clear benefits for diesel and petrol vehicles operating in mixed fleets. A key focus is lightweight construction. Reducing vehicle weight directly improves driving range for electric vans, lowers energy consumption, enhances handling and braking, and contributes to overall vehicle safety. For combustion vehicles, the same weight savings translate into reduced fuel consumption and lower operating costs. By using some of the lightest materials available on the market, Modul-System helps fleets get more from every vehicle throughout its entire life cycle. Another cornerstone of Modul-System’s approach is drill-free installation. Drilling into a vehicle body can risk damaging wiring, battery systems, corrosion protection, and manufacturer warranties—especially critical in electric vehicles. Inspired by aerospace technology, Modul-System introduced high-strength adhesive mounting methods in 2017. These proven techniques allow floors, wall rails, and mounting brackets to be securely bonded to the vehicle without drilling a single hole, protecting vehicle integrity while ensuring long-term durability and safety. Electrification also changes how auxiliary equipment is powered. Work lights, beacons, inverters, heating, and other systems can place unnecessary strain on a vehicle’s 12 V battery if not correctly managed. Modul-System addresses this with its e-Power solution, featuring a dedicated auxiliary battery and integrated DC–DC charging. This ensures auxiliary systems operate reliably without compromising driving range, and that both the vehicle and the auxiliary battery are fully charged at the start of each working day. Connectivity is another area where Modul-System is setting new standards. Modul-Connect acts as the central hub for monitoring and controlling auxiliary equipment such as lighting, heating, security, and vehicle weighing systems. Fleet managers gain real-time insight into key data including vehicle location, routes, weight, battery status, and climate—supporting smarter planning and more efficient operations. Recent infotainment integration allows the Modul-Connect app to be mirrored directly onto the vehicle’s built-in screen, a safety-led innovation recognised with the Technology Award at the WhatVan? Awards 2026. Comfort is equally important for productivity. Modul-System’s e-Heaters, designed for electric vans, provide efficient, emission-free heating using PTC technology. Fully integrated with Modul-Connect, they can be remotely scheduled and controlled, ensuring drivers start the day in a warm, comfortable vehicle. With solutions designed for electric, diesel, and petrol vehicles alike, Modul-System supports fleets through every stage of their transition. By combining lightweight design, drill-free installation, EV-adapted electrics, and smart connectivity, Modul-System helps fleets operate more efficiently, more sustainably, and with confidence—today and into the future.
